Joel Carnes is key hire for rapidly expanding global innovation agency

January 9, 2017; Washington, D.C. – SecondMuse, a global innovation and collaboration agency, announced today that Joel Carnes will join the company as Chief Operating Officer. Carnes brings to SecondMuse nearly twenty years of wide-ranging corporate and nonprofit experience in strategic and tactical management experience, during which he has led projects in fifteen countries across five continents. In this new role, Carnes will oversee the company’s daily operations and help drive the company’s multi-faceted business growth strategies.

“At SecondMuse, our positive impact comes from the businesses we accelerate as well as from the unique networks we cultivate,” says SecondMuse partner Todd Khozein. “The next phase of the SecondMuse evolution is to sharpen our organizational structures and globally scale the incredibly impactful work we’ve done throughout the past decade. Joel’s deep experience and his dedication to the SecondMuse mission will help get us there.”

Carnes joins SecondMuse, as the company rapidly expands. “The problems that humans face don’t respect the boundaries we’ve created,” says Carnes. “SecondMuse has an impressive history of achievement, and a world-class list of partners and clients, but it was the values-driven culture that really attracted me to this opportunity. Starting from a human-centered approach, we are building an open, collaborative ecosystem that encourages the free flow of information and partnership across our networks, to create a world of beauty and dignity, for all.”

Carnes brings with him an expansive record of integrating, aligning and propelling product research, design and development teams at multiple global entertainment corporations. Beginning in 2010, Carnes served in various strategic management capacities at Disney Interactive Media Group, Walt Disney Imagineering and Activision. Additionally, he managed the development of Nestle USA’s corporate intranet and has served as a consultant in media, software and human capital management for high-profile, international brands, across multiple sectors, including Boeing and Motorola.
